BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC bioprocess (wastewater)

MADEP SA's BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC bacteria significantly improve organic matter degradation, flocculation and sedimentation, phosphorus removal, suspended solids removal and eliminate rising sludge.

The use of BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC reduces annual operating costs due to savings in the following areas:
• 25% to 50% reduction in coagulant and flocculant use for sedimentation and phosphorus removal.

• 15% to 30% decrease in sludge production and consequent incineration costs (between CHF 700,-- and CHF 1'000,-- per metric ton of dry matter).


MADEP SA can adapt the BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC process to your particular needs. We develop and supply mixtures of bacteria effective for the treatment of :
• cold water (between 1°C and 12°C, BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC-1),
• normal water (between 10°C and 30°C, BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC-2),
• warm water (between 30°C and 50°C or more, BIOSTEP-BIOFLOC-3)

LIPO bioprocess (Degradation of grease and oils)

The LIPO bacteria were developed to improve grease and oil degradation in municipal wastewater treatment plants and industrial treatment sites. The LIPO bioprocess is adapted to low, medium and very high grease and oil loads (up to 300,000 mg COD/L). The LIPO bacteria are easily adaptable to all continuous and batch processes.

Reference case: treatment of 600 - 1000 metric tons(dry matter)/year of grease and oil with LIPO 1 and 2 in a 35 m3 aerated tank.



Sludge Treatment (Currently in advanced development stage)

Objective: reduce sludge volatile solids by aerobic digestion.

As a result of consumer demands and recently passed legislation, land application of municipal sludges will no longer be permitted in Switzerland. Consequently, all WWTP sludges must be incinerated.

In order to reduce operating costs, MADEP SA offers sludge degrading microorganisms and application techniques that help municipalities and other producers of organic sludges to remove volatile solids and significantly reduce sludge disposal costs.
